MINUTE OF MEETING HELD IN VOLUNTEER ROOMS, IRVINE ON FRIDAY 19 JANUARY 2007

The meeting had two objectives.

1. Audio Presentation Launch

The Audio recording was successfully launched, and thanks were afforded to all sponsors. Danny Sweeney of North Ayrshire Sensory Impairment Team and Ian Downie of Ayr College spoke in praise of the Audio recording and also recorded the benefits to their particular organisations.

2.  The coming together of organisations, clubs and groups to form a Pan-Ayrshire Organisation.

Apologies: Girvan & District Visually Impaired Club, Cummnock & District Blind Club, Cunningham Club for V.I., Largs V.I. Club. Apologies were also received from Monte Hennigan and David Porter

The meeting was informed that an amended constitution had been agreed at a previous meeting of VIA and that this constitution now conformed to all necessary criteria.

The meeting agreed that the present office bearers should remain in place till the AGM takes place in June 2007.

It was also agreed to set membership fees at £10 per organisation (2 representatives) per annum and £5 per individual member per annum.

The meeting then moved on to discuss relevant issues. Among issues raised were the following: Local services and level of service from sensory impairment teams.

It was generally agreed that the meeting had been successful and that a further meeting should be arranged.
